The choir of boys and men at Saint Bartholomew’s dates back to the consecration of the church. In recent years, the choir has toured to a number of English cathedrals, including Exeter, Gloucester, Hereford, Lichfield, Ripon, Saint David’s, Wells, and Worcester. The choir has also made two trips to France, singing in Chartres Cathedral, La Madeleine, and Saint-Sulpice. Our choristers all come from schools in the greater Dublin area, and range from seven to fourteen years of age. Each receives individual training from expert vocal coaches and participates in group social activities from time to time.

This CD is the fourth to feature our boys and men. Sing Praises (1998) and Laudate Dominum (2006) were directed by Malcolm Wisener, who held the position of Director of Music from 1985 to 2007. The third, directed by Fraser Wilson, was Carols and Festive Readings (2009) – a collaboration with the Girls’ Choir and well known actor Alan Stanford.
